Joshua Cox of Kristi’s Tumbling & Trampoline, Liberty Township, Ohio will be competing for the United States at World Championships for Tumbling in Quebec City, Canada. The junior who attends Ryle High School in Burlington, Kentucky competed at the USA Gymnastics Stars and Stripes team trial held September 14th and 15th at the Olympic Training Center in Birmingham, Alabama. The team was announced September 16th at midnight. His journey began at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center in May where the first team trial was held.

 

Cox made the team based upon his outstanding results from both trials. Points were given to athletes based on difficulty and total score. Joshua has been competing nationally for 10 years. He has competed for the United States in 2005 on the World Age Group Team which was held in the Netherlands. He has also competed for USA Gymnastics on the Junior National Team internationally in Belgium and in England. Joshua is the son of Juanita and Robert Cox and one of three children. Joshua trains 15 hours per week at Kristi’s Tumbling & Trampoline in Liberty Township, Ohio. He is coached by Kristi Huff who has produced athletes for World Championships in the sport of tumbling and trampoline since 1996.

 

Joshua was featured in Cincinnati Magazine when he was named to the US Team in 2006. We are proud to have this athlete representing the city of Cincinnati as well as the United States. His dedication to the sport and high level of achievement is amazing.
